The Property
Located in the renowned Portes du Soleil ski area, La Grange Au Merle, a traditional farmhouse chalet, has been finished in true style to accommodate up to 10 adults and 3 children comfortably. The chalet's design welcomes guests into a retreat full of warmth, comfort and style, set in traditional Savoyard character, representing the perfect choice for a luxury family ski holiday in France.
The first floor is the heart of the chalet, with a south facing and open-plan living space, characterised by a classic wooden furniture which gives the ultimate alpine feeling to the property. Natural light floods in from every angle thanks to the large floor to ceiling windows, allowing you to take in the amazing view of the surrounding village from the comfort of the spacious seating area. Here, a wood burning fireplace sets the ideal atmosphere for a cosy and intimate night in, while relaxing with a good book or a glass of wine.
On the opposite side of the living area, a classy crafted larch dining table, which comfortably seats up to 12 guests, awaits you to enjoy evening meals while catching up with one another after a full day of skiing in Châtel. The fully-equipped, modern yet rustic, style kitchen is found adjacent, with wooden panelled drawers and a black granite work surface, surrounding a substantial traditional style range. A separate 'chef's table' is located behind the kitchen, ideal for children's early suppers.
On the mezzanine, above the lounge area, a library offers a peaceful space to select a book or magazine and or a spot to catch up with work emails. Leading outside from the living space, guests will find a large wrap-around balcony where you can appreciate the breathtaking landscape and have an alfresco apéritif with your friends and family.
At the end of an intensive day on the slopes, you will be looking forward to coming back to La Grange Au Merle's outdoor hot tub. Sip a glass of Champagne while relaxing and admiring the surrounding mountains, or unwind in the traditional wooden sauna and indulge in a massage, to make sure you maintain your peak physical activity. For those late nights, set the atmosphere using the chalet's built in sound system and set the perfect background to have fun with your group, while having a cocktail from the bar area or one of the 20 high quality complimentary different wines stored in the chalet's cellar. Also, the little ones can find a dedicated space for them to enjoy their time: a TV snug is home to a large television with a selection of games, toys and craft supplies, while the alpine playhouse 'Crystal de Neige' located in the outdoor garden guarantees the maximum level of fun in the snow.
The chalet's original charm and ambience is recalled throughout La Grange Au Merle keeping the authentic atmosphere as well as providing all the comfort you may wish for. All five of the spacious bedrooms are located on the first floor and are complete of their own en-suite bathrooms or shower rooms and balcony access. The only exception is Le Grenier room, which can be found in the mezzanine level, and has direct access to the TV snug. Finally, a bunk bedroom sleeping 3 children is present and can be set up with room 4 as an ideal family suite. There are two bedrooms that can accommodate an extra bed on request, allowing up to 15 guests to stay at the chalet.
La Grange Au Merle also provides a ski room with boot warmers. For extra convenience, laundry facilities are also included, as well as a covered garage suitable for two cars, located beside the property.
The prices are based on exclusive use of the chalet for up to 10 adults and 3 children and if offered on a fully catered basis with selected complimentary drinks and an in resort driver service.

1 x Double/Twin bedroom with balcony access and separate shared bathroom with shower. (Room 4 - Les Pommes Vertes)
1 x Children's Bunk bedroom (sleeps 2) with additional single bed and separate shared bathroom with shower. (Room 5 - Les Pommes Rouges)
Mezzanine Level:
1 x Double/Twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower and access to the mezzanine snug space. (Room 6 - Le Grenier)
Please note, rooms 4 & 5 can also work well as a private family suite, as they can close off to the rest of the chalet, together. An extra bed can be accommodated in rooms Le Crocus, Les Pommes Vertes and Les Marmottes on request.
