The Property
Apartment Chez Germain is located on the two upper levels of Chalet La Douceur, a stand-alone chalet renovated from an old converted farmhouse in the exclusive French resort of La Clusaz. Organised over two floors, the luxury apartment is spread across 250m² of comfortable living space and is characterised by a modern alpine interior design. Apartment Chez Germain can host up to 14 guests over 6 bedrooms, making it an ideal base for a larger family or mixed group of friends.
Upon entering Apartment Chez Germain, you will be welcomed into the first living area of the property, featuring the kitchen-diner and a small lounge space. Often the kitchen is described as the heart of the home, and here at Apartment Chez Germain it is no exception. While your nominated cook of the group prepares a loving meal, kids can be kept a close eye on as they relax on the sofas with the TV on in the background. The long dining table provides ample space for the whole group to come together over mealtimes. A fireplace and large doors out onto the wrap-around balcony set the wintery scene, whilst the rustic charm and design of the space oozes warmth and comfort.
The lovely balcony area provides outdoor seating and is a welcome space to take in the beautiful mountain views of the Aravis valley, while enjoying an alfresco lunch with your group.
Back inside, a double height hallway and wooden staircase lead up to the floor above, where you can find an inviting lounge space. With large, comfortable sofas, you can all enjoy this great space to relax in after a long ski day. There are double doors out onto a further terrace, a nice spot for a morning coffee to appreciate the views.
Guests staying in Apartment Chez Germain, will also be able to benefit from the outdoor barrel sauna, perfect for and soothing any achy muscles whilst enjoying a wonderful picturesque background through the barrel's fish eye lens window.
The six bedrooms of the apartment are equally split across both the upper and lower level of the property. The rooms all stick firmly to the Savoyard feel of the property with lots of exposed wood, woollen throws and a neutral colour pallet. On the first floor, you will find three en-suite double bedrooms, one of which can also be arranged as twin. The second level offers three first bedrooms which includes a master double bedroom with access onto the balcony, a dressing room and en-suite. There is a further double bedroom with additional single bed in its own private nook, and the room has a private bathroom across the landing. The final bedroom is ideally set up for three children, with 3 single beds in their own cubbyholes and an en-suite.
Apartment Chez Germain, is one of two private accommodations making up Chalet La Douceur. When taken together as a whole property, Apartment Chez Germain and its smaller counterpart, Apartment Chez Joseph can sleep up to 20 guests in total across 9 bedrooms.
The two properties share a garage with two car parking spaces each, as well as a ski room with boot warmers and laundry facilities.
Prices are based on the exclusive use of the property for up to 14 guests and is offered on a self-catered basis only.
