Luxury Ski Chalets in Matterhorn Ski Paradise, Switzerland
The Matterhorn Ski Paradise offers possibly the most spectacular scenery of any ski region. Situated at almost 4000m, the region is one of the highest and allows for all year skiing. Overlapping the border of Switzerland and Italy, resorts in both countries can be enjoyed within the Matterhorn Ski Paradise. The beautiful car free resort of Zermatt is located in the Swiss side and the Italian resort of Cervinia. The Italians refer to the Matterhorn as Monte Cervino, which can sometimes cause confusion, but both resorts do fall under the Matterhorn Ski Paradise ski region.
The region offers a huge array of accommodation from luxury self-catered apartments to fully catered ski in/ski out properties. There are also a large number of luxury ski chalets with a hot tub and luxury chalets with saunas.
The highest lift is at 3,820m and 55 lifts service 360km of runs. The longest run is 14km and there are 2 snow parks. There is only 15km of cross country skiing. The nearest airport is 1.5 hours away in Sion, but Geneva is 4 hours away and Zurich just 3 hours.
