La Rosière is a wonderfully attractive well-kept French secret. It has a lovely traditional rustic Savoyard feel with low rise chalet-style accommodation built mostly in wood and stone. La Rosière is south facing, enjoying lovely sunshine with an enviable record for excellent snow conditions and huge dumps of snow.
La Rosière is part of the Espace San Bernardo area, linked to La Thuile in Italy. There are spectacular views across the Tarentaise valley to Les Arcs, up towards Val d'Isere and down towards Bourg St Maurice, as well as impressive views of Mont Blanc from the slopes.
La Rosiere offers versatile skiing for everyone. There are super wide open, cruisey blues and reds for beginners and intermediates and more challenging pistes and tree skiing in La Thuile for stronger intermediates and advanced skiers. Beginners and intermediates will love this resort, La Rosière isn't renowned for attracting advanced skiers, but the locals like it this way! Recently launched in La Rosière is a monitored and ‘safe' free-ride/off-piste area which even strong intermediates can try. Heli-skiing on the nearby glaciers in Italy is right on the door step, at half the price you would pay in North America and you can ski back to La Rosière. A big plus point is that the lift passes are low cost and for a small fee you can upgrade to include a day in a nearby resort.
A child-friendly resort, La Rosière has won the accolade of ‘Les p'tits Montagnards' which is awarded to resorts who specialise in welcoming families and their children.

There are a couple of bars in town and whilst nightlife has been limited until now, it is improving. Le Moo Bar offers a fun atmosphere and live bands. Most other bars offer live music throughout the week as well. There is a selection of great value restaurants offering good cuisine from pizzas to gourmet food. Le Genepi restaurant and L'Ancolie are recommended.
