Backstage Loft is one of Zermatt's most unique properties, an eclectic architectural delight from the brain of acclaimed designer Heinz Julen, this spacious 620m² modern luxury chalet offers up to 10 guests a base for their Zermatt luxury ski holidays. With a great range of spa facilities, perfectly positioned location between the lifts and centre of resort, and all-important Matterhorn views, the Backstage Loft makes for a great option.
Utilising the structural design of an old, authentic Valais barn, Backstage Loft has been transformed into a cutting-edge avant-garde luxury offering, utilising materials of wood, metal, glass and concrete in a chic, contemporary way. The furnishings and fittings of Backstage Loft were all custom-made by Heinz Julen, showcasing his signature style, with contemporary local artworks decorating the walls of the loft. The airy open-plan living area is central to the chalet, with double-height ceilings and glass walls that help blur the boundary between outside and in, framing picture-perfect Matterhorn views. There is a cosy fireplace by a comfortable seating area, as well as a fully-equipped modern kitchen. The standout feature, however, is the large dining table which, operated on a system of pulleys, can be lifted above head height and fully open up the floor space.
Backstage Loft has a great variety of wellness facilities to help you relax and unwind after a day of skiing in Zermatt. Grab a glass of Champagne and head to the chalet's soothing indoor hot tub, found in a glass encasement that with a spectacular Matterhorn view ahead. Much like the rest of the chalet, this has a distinctive design feature whereby the glass walls can open out, transforming the indoor Jacuzzi to an outdoor one. The property also boast a rejuvenating sauna and Hammam, while a small dedicated fitness area is well-stocked with a mixture of cardio equipment and free weights.
With fur throws and elegant furnishings, the comfy TV lounge of Backstage Loft is another option for the chalet's 10 guests to gather together and unwind on return from skiing.
Backstage Loft welcomes 10 guests across five luxurious double bedrooms. Distinctively designed in an ultra-modern, fashionable style, three of these bedrooms can be found directly off the main living area. The other two are located in the adjoining 700-year-old barn conversion, enveloped by glass which highlights many of the original features. The bedrooms are all finished to a high standard, with en-suite shower rooms, and several offering access to a balcony or terrace.
The chalet is equipped with a ski room with boot warmers. There is also an elevator to get between the floors.
When staying at Backstage Loft, guests will also have access to the spa area of Backstage Hotel, located in the centre of Zermatt 10-minutes walk away. This spa area, themed after the creation story in the Book of Genesis, this wellness space offers a mixture of therapies with steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, and relaxation spaces that journey you through the seven days of creation.
Prices are based on exclusive use of the chalet for up to 10 guests and is offer with full gourmet catering, complimentary drinks bar, daily housekeeping, in-resort electro-taxi on arrival & departure, and use of the Backstage Hotel Spa.
